A woman has filed a lawsuit against Facebook, accusing the social media giant of facilitating sex trafficking. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, has alleged that a human trafficker used the social network to get in touch with her and then forced her into sex trade when she was 16.

A teenager was detained for allegedly raping a girl whom he befriended on Facebook in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The boy was apprehended and he confessed to having raped the girl. The duo had become friends on Facebook. The 19-year-old girl had initially accused her tutor of raping her.
