The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has collected 3.5 lakh as penalties from seven construction companies, for violation of air pollution control norms in the first three days of December, the SDMC said yesterday. Each company has been fined with an amount of 50,000, it said in a statement

On Thursday, a senior officer of the Delhi Police allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 10th floor of the Delhi Police headquarters in ITO, New Delhi. The officer, Prem Ballabh, held the rank of assistant commissioner of police (ACP). The incident occurred at around 10.15am.
